Listen to the Bell Loft

On the floor above the Library Hall is the Bell Loft. From here the Trinitatis Church bells have been rung for almost 400 years, but the loft has several other stories. Traces of a Theater Scene Painter

In the beginning of the 20th century the theater scene painter Carl Lund rented the Library Hall and he also used the Bell Loft for his fantastic sceneries.

Raw hides, medicinal herbs and sheets, hung to dry – the alternating functions of the Bell Loft have also brought many different scents along with them.

The construction of the Bell Loft is also something special. The loft is made as a so-called suspended floor, so that the weight of the floor rests on the big pine-wood pillars.
